Academic Programs
The degrees the university offers and the degrees it is building towards, from undergraduate to doctoral.
One degree running, and a ladder above it being built.
Teaching at Madhesh Agricultural University begins with the four-year B.Sc. Agriculture (Hons.), the programme the university currently enrols for. Postgraduate and doctoral study are being established above it as departments, laboratories and supervisory capacity come into place — a research degree cannot be offered before there is research for a student to join.
All three tiers are run on the semester system, are examined by the Office of the Examination Controller, and carry the same requirement that theory be matched by work in a laboratory, on a farm or on a farmer's field. Admission to each is announced by notice, with the eligibility, entrance and intake stated there.
Undergraduate
B.Sc. Agriculture (Hons.) — four years, eight semesters, with a final-year internship.
Postgraduate
M.Sc. specialisation in crop science and allied disciplines, with a thesis.
Doctoral
PhD by research, supervised within the university's research programme.
Admission by notice
Eligibility, entrance and intake are stated in the admission notice for each session.
