Reports

Annual, programme, research and technical reports — what the university did, and what it cost.

A public body reports, or it is simply spending.

The university is funded publicly, so what it did with the year and the money is a matter of record rather than of goodwill. Its reports set out the programmes run, the trials conducted, the students taught and graduated, the training delivered, and the expenditure against the budget approved for it.

Alongside the annual report sit the narrower ones: the report a research programme owes at the end of a season, the technical report behind a released recommendation, the report a directorate makes on a project, and the summary of what an audit found and what was done about it.

Annual report

The year of the university — teaching, research, extension and expenditure.

Research & technical reports

Season-end trial reports and the technical basis of a released recommendation.

Audit and compliance

What the audit found, and what the university did about it.

Published reports

Reports are published on the notice board as they are approved. Section 36 of the Act requires the university's annual report to go before the University Assembly, and section 43 requires the three-yearly external evaluation to be made public once it has reached the Ministry; the version published here is the one that has been through that.
