Faculty Board
The faculty's own academic body — where teaching, curriculum and student progress are settled before anything goes upward.
Close enough to the teaching to know what is actually wrong with it.
The Faculty Board is the academic body of a faculty. Chaired by the Dean, it brings together the heads of the departments and the teaching staff to settle what belongs at faculty level: the allocation of teaching, the conduct of practical and field work, internship arrangements, and the academic problems of students that a department could not resolve on its own.
Its other function is to carry curriculum upward. A subject board committee drafts or revises a course; the faculty board reviews it against the rest of the programme — whether it duplicates another course, whether the prerequisites hold, whether the practical load can actually be delivered with the laboratories and land available — and forwards it to the Academic Council with a recommendation.
